We've all heard horror stories about how HMOs deny patients needed care and engage in some "shady" practices to maximize profits. This week, however, we're going to hear from an HMO in LA that covers some of the most vulnerable families in the County. What would you want to know about this health plan to make sure that it delivers high quality care for these very needy families? (Hint: these are questions I would encourage you to ask in class!)
